Another mestizo number from Lovemonk´s 7" offspring label Marula Soul Food. This time is a story about going to Brazil and not wanting to come back. Open Foraina did release some cool stuff in the late 90s, played from some of the key headz, like Kruder & Dorfmeister among many others. Then he started recording music for successful TV series, and when he gathered some money he went for holidays to Brazil. That was long time ago and now he still there. We were thinking about sending some troops to bring him back but finally, because Lovemonk is a peaceful label, we decided to commit him a Brazilian Funky number. Funny enough he found some amazing collaborators there and things were easy. Then he met Jack Quiñonez, a Colombian trobadour who happened to be there when the instrumental mix was being finished. He tried some things, and you can say it worked! His voice gave the sparkling point to the unmissable groove that Open Foraina prepared.
Don´t forget to check the B side including a jazzy funk number sprung by the magic lips of an Argentinian trumpet player whose name we prefer not to share.
And now because of this tiny sunny label in Madrid, Lovemonk, you can listen this brazilian nugget. These limited 7”s will feature original artwork (the crazy trumpet player here is courtesy of Roger Olmos) and a recipe – easy to prepare!
